Two graves noted at Saint Johns Cemetery Parramatta NSW. George Mc Donald and Darcy (D'Arcy)Wentworth ( second son of D'Arcy Wentworth Snr (acquitted highwayman) later personal physician to Governor Macquarie in NSW) who's updated grave plaque inscription mistakenly reads 65th Regt instead of 63Regt.

Interesting Michael. Have more grave stones in this cemetery been replaced by more legible ones?

Hi Sarah,

Sorry , just noticed your post reply in unread posts.

Plaques are occasionally installed by family descendants next to gravestones with the permission of "Friends of St Johns Cemetery" Parramatta NSW within heritage guidelines that details should only contain what is on the original inscription. The inscriptions for this cemetery have been published in a book called " The Parramatta Cemeteries, St. Johns" edited by Judith Dunn,1991.

Cheers,

Thanks Michael with these both graves.
With Parramatta St John's Church, do you know the memorial at the memory of
William Irwin from 28th Foot, died in 1840, his grave will be also at the St John's Cemetery ?
Regards.
