Ensign taken by Nelson in Norfolk Museum in July 2017

Postby FBC-Elvas, Portugal » February 25th, 2017, 3:24 pm

Norfolk Museums (UK) are conserving the huge French tricolour flag taken by Nelson from "Le Genereux" on 18 February 1800 during the Battle of the Malta Convoy. There will be an exhibition "Nelson and Norfolk" at Norwich Castle Museum this summer. It will be the first time the flag has been seen since 1905.

More treasures are to be included in the upcoming exhibition devoted to Nelson.
From July 29th.

Videos about the history and conservation of the ensign can be seen on https://vimeo.com/204688893 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1H5TEN8Ar8
